Dr Tristram Hunt
Dr Tristram Hunt will trace the V&A’s genesis from its Victorian roots, discussing how the Museum’s founding commitment to the ‘artisan in design’ continues to define its mission today.
Former MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Dr Tristram Hunt is the Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London - the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance. His doctorate is in Victorian history from Cambridge University and he has written several books, including Ten Cities That Made an Empire (2014).
The Society meets at the Hull Royal Hotel, 170 Ferensway, Hull HU1 3UF
All lectures are presented in the Royal Suite and start at 7.30pm prompt.
Doors are normally open at 6.45pm but access may be delayed if lecture preparations are not complete.
The audience are requested to please be in their seats before 7.25pm
